Love Story: Whirlwind Romance
Do you believe in love at first sight? How about a love story that is a whirlwind romances? If someone told you that 1 year from now you would be married to someone you haven’t even met yet would you believe it? I know I wouldn’t have. That was before it happened to me.
I have always known what I wanted in a husband, and what I wanted in life. I knew I was ready for a commitment, and didn’t want to invest time in a relationship that wouldn’t go where I wanted.
When I started a new job, I wasn’t looking for a relationship, I just wanted to settle in. Almost right away, I noticed Vern. He was tall, handsome, kind,and just seemed to always be standing out when I came in for the day. I found out later, that he always waited for me to come in. He loved me right from the start, but was afraid to mix work with his love life.
We started talking on breaks and lunch, and I was hooked. He was everything I ever wanted, right in front of me. I am not a very forward person, but I started hinting, and trying to get him to ask me out. It was agony! He would flirt with me every day, but that was it.

Finally one day, I couldn’t take it anymore, and invited him to my place for coffee. I was not usually forward, but something told me to take a chance.That night, he told me he loved me. Part of me thought I should run away screaming. I mean, really? After flirting for 3 months, he loved me? Something in me just melted, and I knew I loved him too. I didn’t understand it, but I knew I was looking into the eyes of my future husband. This was December 1st. That same night, we discussed marriage, and what we wanted out of life. Everything I wanted, he wanted too. It was like a dream. On January 15, he asked me to marry him, and with no hesitation, I said yes. People were shocked, yet supportive. We were married April 27th that same year. In less than a year, we met, started dating, were engaged, and married. It was the best year of my life. Now, 11 years later, we have 5 beautiful children, and are more in love than ever. I found the man of my dreams, and listened to my heart. When you meet the right person, something in you just knows, and it is worth jumping in, and taking that chance. I am so glad I did!
