Strawberry With Goat Cheese And Basil Bruschetta Recipe
Strawberry With Goat Cheese And Basil Bruschetta Recipe
It’s strawberry season down here in Tennessee ya’ll! Nothing says summer like a ripe red strawberry on a hot day if you ask me! I’m lucky to live in an area surrounded by farmland. We have plenty of fresh fruit, farmers markets, and something my family and I love to do every summer, a strawberry patch! It is so fun to head to the strawberry patch and pick out some fresh strawberries first thing in the morning. Lucky for us our patch also happens to be on a pig farm, so we can pick up some fresh bacon and sausage as well. Which means after our visit we go home and make a yummy and super fresh breakfast! But there is one tiny downside. When you have a daughter that loves picking the strawberries, you end up with 4 pounds of strawberries. So you have to get a little creative in how you are going to eat all those strawberries before they go bad. But don’t you fret! There are So many ways to eat strawberries. Today I wanted to show you one of my favorite ways, my Strawberry with goat cheese and basil Bruschetta! It’s SO good you guys!
Here is how easy it is to make my Strawberry with Goat Cheese and Basil Bruschetta:
You Will Need:
- Strawberries (washed and sliced)
- Crumbled Goat Cheese
- Fresh Basil (By the way, some grocery stores and farmers markets sell potted basil plants. So much better than using dried or prepackaged basil)
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Sliced crusty loaf long bread
Step 1: First you will want to slice and toast your bread. The level of crispiness is dependent on your liking. I just butter mine and pop it under the broiler for 1-3 minutes and it’s perfect!
Step 2: Slice up your strawberries! There are a few ways you can do this. You can slice and dice them to make it more like a salsa texture, or you can slice them for a full strawberry coverage.
Step 3: Now it’s time to assemble! I put my goat cheese crumbles down first, then my strawberries, and then my fresh picked basil that I just break up with my fingers. Doing it this way brings out the natural oils in the leaf, giving you a better flavor. Add a splash of balsamic vinegar on top and you are set with a fancy appetizer that screams summer and everyone is sure to love!
How easy was that right? This has quickly become a family favorite and is perfect for an appetizer for a grill out, a party, or just a snack when you are feeling a bit hungry. You could also switch out the strawberries for any other fruit and make your own custom bruschetta recipe!
