Hello my fellow Halloween lovers! Tomorrow is officially fall, who else is excited!? I am so glad that I have a kid that loves fall holidays as much as I do. Every year at my daughters school they are not allowed to dress up in full Halloween costumes, but they are allowed to dress in Halloween clothing. So I thought it would be fun to make a DIY Halloween Tutu for my daughter to wear! Something that has always amazed me is the price of tutu’s either in store or online. They can get super expensive. This project cost me $5 total, and turned out pretty cute in my oh-so-humble opinion. Would you like to learn how to make one for yourself? Let’s check it out! [Read more…]

DIY Ghost Mirror Halloween Project

DIY Ghost Mirror Halloween Project

You guys, Halloween is almost here! I am SO excited! I am already sneaking a few decorations up here and there. Only a few at a time so my husband doesn’t get too mad at me haha! Now while I love my Halloween decorations, what I don’t love is having to spend tons of money on them. I don’t know what it is about holiday items being so expensive, but it drives me nuts. So rather than shelling out the money at the big box stores, I find out way’s I can make Halloween decorations at home! So this week I decided to try my hand at a DIY Creepy Ghost Mirror which was inspired by something I saw in the store for $30 that I wasn’t going to spend ha! This project cost me…$2 to make. Yes really! And the cool thing about it is that you can only see the “ghost” if you are standing right in front of it. If you stand beside it it just looks like a dusty old mirror. Keep on reading if you would like to learn how to make one of your own! [Read more…]

School is back in session, which means the holidays are right around the corner. I know it seems like it’s a far way off, but it will be here before you know it, I promise! One of my favorite things to do for the holiday season is make homemade gifts for everyone! Not only will it save you money, but it takes a lot more thought and effort than picking up a gift card, and most of the time, the recipient is going to love a thoughtful homemade gift way better anyways!  [Read more…]

According to my phone, the temperature outside is 103 degrees, which means that summer is here for sure. Summer to me means flip flops every day (ok ok, I will wear flip flops any other time of the year too, but at least in the summer people don’t look at me all weird ha). How To Make Your Own Lace Shorts

How To Make Your Own Lace Shorts

Sometimes, having a little girl is hard when it comes to dressing them. I wouldn’t trade it for the world of course, but I often wonder whose idea some of the fashions for them are. This weeks project, How to make your own Lace Shorts, was inspired by some designers lack of….what’s the word…modesty. Here is the back story, last week I took my daughter shopping for some new summer clothes and ran into a problem. What problem is this you ask? The length of shorts for little girls. Why is it I only found 2 pair of shorts in the ENTIRE STORE that were longer than my daughters finger tips? More importantly, why are they selling booty shorts in a little girls size 6? I was shocked, and to be honest, a little weirded out. I mean, to each their own, but unless we are dance class where shorts that short are necessary for movement, I would never put my 7 year old in booty shorts. Nope, not gonna happen. [Read more…]
