How To Save Money When You Buy A Car

“This is a Sponsored post all opinions are my own.

The best thing I ever did was buy my car. It gave me my first experience on how the world works. I had never bought anything that I would have to pay for over time.   It was the first time I was a big girl, and I bought something that I couldn’t pay off the next month. It has been a long time since I was twenty but one thing hasn’t changed you need to do your research when you buy a car if you want to save money.

I know own four cars they are all paid off and I can tell you the secret to do the same thing.

  1. Determine what you can afford. You will do this by listing all your expenses and adding in 20% for savings. Then you need to figure out your loan amount.
  2. Go to
  3.  Open up the auto loan calculator
  4. Once you have figured out how much you plan to borrow if you plan to borrow add 10% to that amount because you will need to save for car repair and car maintenance.
  5. Then you will have a good idea of what you can afford.
  6. Once you know what you can afford you can search for the cars in your area that are in your price range.
  7. You will need to look at more than the sticker price when making your decision. You need to look into what type of services the car will require and when. If you buy a used car with 30k miles does it need something large done by 36,000 miles? These are all important factors to consider when shopping for a car.
  8. Once you have a good idea then use this information to compare the cars on
  9. Then check for their availability and find who has the car you want at the price you can pay.

In order to, not have a loan I suggest buying a car that is 50% less of your projected budget and putting that money into an account. If you have to take out a loan this time if you save each month your next car should be able to be purchased in cash. They say cash is king and that is true. I have always gotten better deals by being able to write a check for my car over having to deal with the bank. The first car I bought was a lease so that I was able to put away cash for when the lease ended. Then I had enough money to buy a car that I still own. You know what they say you can have what you want but being able to afford it is important.

That is how I save money when buying a car.

The Best Christmas Tea ever!

Christmas Tea Recipe

Everyone knows that Southern food just can’t be matched…and drinks are no exception.  I had this
Christmas tea a few years ago, at our small-town bank during a Holiday party, and I was willing to do anything for the recipe. It’s that good. Turns out, it’s from a hometown cookbook that’s just about as old as the town itself. So, if you’re  looking for an autumn tea or Christmas tea recipe, you’ve found it. Look no further. Close all those other recipes you’ve got open, cause this is the one you want to go with.

Christmas Tea Recipe Ingredients:

2 Cinnamon sticks
2 TBSP WHOLE cloves
3 Cups sugar (Haven’t made it with Splenda, but I’m sure you could!)
1 qt. boiling water
1 qt. strong tea (REALLY REALLY STRONG)
Juice of 3 lemons (Or lemon juice)
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
3 quarts boiling water (You can sub some of this for apple cider!)

Bring 1 qt water (or cider) to a boil, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and sugar.  Boil for 5 minutes, then strain out spices.   Add tea and remaining ingredients.  Serve hot or cold!

After making this a few times, it’s always best the next day. It’s great fresh, of course, but it’s even better after sitting overnight in the fridge. You can drink this hot or cold. The cinnamon and cloves mesh so well with the tea flavor — and the citrus notes are just the perfect finish. I promise you, if you make this, you will be asked for this Christmas tea recipe, if not crowned the king or queen of the party!

Free Father’s Day Printable For Kids: Who is Your Super Hero?

Free Father’s Day Printable For Kids

Father's Day

Father’s Day is for our Super Heroes

With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking of new ways to show my husband how much he is appreciated and how awesome a father he is to our little girl.  Our daughter is absolutely a Daddy’s Girl.  Since my husband works nights, he isn’t always available to do the same things nine-to-five working dads do with their children.  That’s one of the reasons why when he’s home and not sleeping, our daughter doesn’t leave his side.  This quality father/daughter bonding time is so important for our daughter.  The time she spends with her Daddy is something my husband and I value and cherish.  Taking advantage of these specials moments is something we believe to be a top priority for our family.

Our daughter calls her Daddy her Super Hero and always gets him a super hero themed gift for Father’s Day.  This year I decided to make a super fun printable.  This special printable for kids is super hero themed to go along with his present this year.  If you have a Super Hero for a Dad in your family, be sure to let him know how much he is appreciated.

Every father that works hard and loves his family should feel like a super hero.  It is our job to make sure that happens.  This is why I wanted to share this Free Father’s Day Printable with you.  Your kids can fill it out and share it with their Dad.  Enjoy!
