School is back in session, which means the holidays are right around the corner. I know it seems like it’s a far way off, but it will be here before you know it, I promise! One of my favorite things to do for the holiday season is make homemade gifts for everyone! Not only will it save you money, but it takes a lot more thought and effort than picking up a gift card, and most of the time, the recipient is going to love a thoughtful homemade gift way better anyways!  [Read more…]

According to my phone, the temperature outside is 103 degrees, which means that summer is here for sure. Summer to me means flip flops every day (ok ok, I will wear flip flops any other time of the year too, but at least in the summer people don’t look at me all weird ha). My daughter has inherited my love for flip flops and wanted to make a fun summer gift for her friends so we came up with some super cute and fun Water Balloon Flip Flops! It brings together 2 things everyone loves about summer, flip flops and any kind of water. How to Paint Your Purse

I love fashion. I hate to spend a lot of money but I will on things that I love and on things that I think will last me a lifetime. I spend money on purses. I actually get a lot of great deals on Shopbop.

How to Paint Your Purse

I bought this great Tory Burch purse years ago. I wore this purse everywhere and you could tell. It sat in my closet because it looked awful. I mean it had scrapes and scratches and in general it looked like it should be thrown away. I was looking for a new purse. I really wanted a red one. I of course headed to shopbop and began searching. The purses I wanted were well over $250.00 so I decided I needed to save up. Then it hit me I could make a red purse.

How To Make Your Own Lace Shorts

How To Make Your Own Lace Shorts

Sometimes, having a little girl is hard when it comes to dressing them. I wouldn’t trade it for the world of course, but I often wonder whose idea some of the fashions for them are. This weeks project, How to make your own Lace Shorts, was inspired by some designers lack of….what’s the word…modesty. Here is the back story, last week I took my daughter shopping for some new summer clothes and ran into a problem. What problem is this you ask? The length of shorts for little girls. Why is it I only found 2 pair of shorts in the ENTIRE STORE that were longer than my daughters finger tips? More importantly, why are they selling booty shorts in a little girls size 6? I was shocked, and to be honest, a little weirded out. I mean, to each their own, but unless we are dance class where shorts that short are necessary for movement, I would never put my 7 year old in booty shorts. Nope, not gonna happen. [Read more…]

Fathers Day Cake

Fathers Day will be here before you know it and it’s time to start thinking of some ways to make the Father in your life feel special! My daughter and I were thinking of what we could get for my husband this year, because he happens to be the coolest dad I know! There are very few things in life my husband loves more than a cold Mtn. Dew so I had an awesome idea to make him a whole cake of it! This Soda Can Cake Fathers Day Craft was inspired by a diaper cake I had made for a baby shower a few months ago. I just know he’s going to get a kick out of it! You could trade out the Mtn. Dew for any other soda (or beer if he’s into that!) and whatever candy he loves.

Let’s check out how easy this Soda Can Cake Fathers Day Craft is to make! [Read more…]
