Let Me Introduce Myself!
Let Me Introduce Myself!
Guess what ya’ll? There’s a new sheriff in town! My name is Rachelle and this site is now my little slice of the internet! I have been working for Amee over at Real Advice Gal for going on 4 years now, and we decided it was time for me to step out from behind the shadows and into my own spotlight! I am SO excited to share some wonderful recipes, crafts, product reviews, and some laughter every week.
So with that being said, I thought you guys might want to know a little bit about me and what you can expect from the “new” Love, Laughter, Forever After! Here is what I’m all about:
First off, this is me! Hello! I am freshly 27 years old. Things that I love include: tattoos, all types of music (although, I live in the country music capital of the world and I’m not the biggest fan of country music ha!), doing crafts, trashy reality TV (what can I say? It’s a guilty pleasure #NoShame), social media, taking road trips, video games, horror movies, Game of Thrones, and very recently, getting healthy! But most importantly, I love my small and perfect family.
This is my family. My husbands name is Brandon, and the cutie in the front of my 7 year old daughter Jaiden. They are my world. My husband and I became parents young ( I’m sure you can do the math) so we had to grow up very quickly. But I would change a thing about how or when it happened.
My daughter has a disorder known as Sensory Processing Disorder and has very low muscle tone. What does this mean? It just means she doesn’t process her emotions very well, she can become overwhelmed easily, and she has to try a little harder at basic tasks like writing, and tieing shoes. But don’t worry, it doesn’t get her down! She is still very social, cute as a button, and sharp as a tack. She is in 2nd grade with over a 5th grade reading level!
We are a little different than a lot of families. The photo above is Jaiden indoor skydiving. She only does this because she isn’t old enough to skydive for real. But she is counting down the days. My husband jumps out of plains for fun, and I cheer him on. We also love tattoos. I am currently working on an Alice in Wonderland sleeve that my daughter helped me design. My husband has a full back piece of a painting by his favorite artist, Alex Grey. We play a lot of video games. By ourselves and as a family. We have 6 different game systems. And my daughter can kill zombies as well as anyone.
We are Harry Potter nerds. Read the books, seen the movies, went to the park. Loved every minute of it. My daughter got the honor of having the wand choose her while visiting Universal studios over the summer. It was amazing! I’ve even got a harry potter tattoo right behind my right ear :).
I guess you could say we are just nerds in general as well. We love reading, I would like to think we are pretty smart, and we get really excited when a new book/video game/movie comes out. I personally love my horror movies and the hubs is all about Sci-Fi.
I’m a Work at Home Housewife and proud of it! When people look at me, most of them wouldn’t assume that I have an classic values. And that’s fine, I like being different, which would explain the tattoos right? But really, I love staying home and taking care of my family. Now I don’t think it’s a “womans duty” or anything like that, so don’t bring out the pitchforks just yet. It’s just the way to works for my family. My husband works his butt off 10 hours a day, so I’m going to make sure he comes home to a clean house and something to eat. And I don’t expect him to help. Does he? Yes. But he doesn’t have to.
That’s why I like to call myself a classic housewife with a modern twist. Instead of dusting off the afternoon tea set, I’m dusting off our game systems and skulls. It’s all about balance. I’m also a dance mom. So you will see me snapping pictures, and perfecting my daughters bun. We are actually taking a break to try out soccer this season. Which is scary but exciting.
I’m also super super close with my mom. She is truly my best friend. And the best Yai-Yai to my daughter. Oh and we are exactly alike and awesome. We even have matching fang mark tattoos on our wrists. And for the record, we got them before the whole Twilight phase. Everyone knows those aren’t real vampires haha! I, like my daughter AND husband, am an only child. So our family is very small and perfect. And I get a lot of flack for “not giving Jaiden a sibling”. The beauty of it is that she gets to choose her sisters in her friends, and she still has lots of aunts and uncles in our friends. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
So that’s me! I hope you enjoy my posts, my thoughts, my recipes, my crafts, and my insight into the world. Thanks for joining me!
XOXO
