Providing Backpacks for Those in Need in this Pay it Forward BTS Event

I recently had the opportunity to join a Mission Giveaway Pay it Forward Event. Campus Book Rentals sponsored 85 bloggers with $25 to purchase a backpack and supplies to donate to a child in need. The harsh reality is that many children start school without the basic school supplies and this sets them up for failure during the school year. A lot of times teachers will purchase these school supplies out of their own pockets. They are not always able to as they are purchasing so many of their own classroom supplies.

I am always one for a challenge and set out on a mission to get as many items as I could for $25. I came across some great sales at Meijers and Walgreens that enabled me to fill up a backpack to the brim with very essential school supplies.

My daughter wanted to take it one step further so as a family we sponsored a second backpack and supplies.

Our Pay it Forward Backpacks Contain the  following

1 pack of Lined Paper($0.82)

2 Expo Markers ($2.00)

5 Glue Sticks ($2.99)

1 pack of Pens($1.00)

1 pack Pencil Top Erasers ($1.00)

This project is allowed me to include my daughter in our Pay it Forward mission and I was very happy to see her get involved with looking for the lowest prices in order to get more items to fill up the backpacks.  She has requested going with me to deliver the backpacks to our Local School District and I look forward to getting her more involved in our mission to Pay it Forward.

Let’s keep the Pay it Forward mission going and I ask that you do your own part to donate a backpack and/or school supplies to help a child a need.
