Easy DIY Seashell Candles
Easy DIY Seashell Candles
The countdown is on guys! Only 3 more weeks of school (at least for us down here in Nashville). I am SO excited to spend some much needed quality time with my little one. I am planning day trips, movie marathons, and just having fun together. One of mine and my daughters favorite things to do is crafts! And in the summer their is plenty of time for all things crafty! So to celebrate the almost start of summer I thought it would be fun to make some DIY Seashell Candles! These would look great on a mantle, as a centerpiece, or would make great favors for a summer party! And the best part is, they are easy to make (and cheap!). Let’s check it out!
Here is how to make these DIY Seashell Candles:
You Will Need:
- Seashells! (Make sure they have a flatish bottom. You can either use ones you have scooped up from the beach, or most craft stores carry them as well). These can be as big or as small as you like.
- Tealight candles
- Optional: food coloring
Instructions for DIY Seashell Candles:
Step 1: There are actually 2 ways you can do step 1. You can either A) light your candles while they are still intact. Or B) break the pieces up and melt them in a sauce pan. At this point you can add in your food coloring if you would like colored wax. You could also use crayons!
Step 2: Place your wicks in the center of your seashell. Slowly and carefully pour your wax into each shell. My daughter added some glitter to her candles for fun! Let them harden completely before moving.
That’s it! 2 steps and you have some super cute and fun DIY Seashell Candles! I just love craft time don’t you?
