Fun in the Sun at Nashville Shores!
Fun in the sun at Nashville Shores!
Disclosure- I received free tickets to facilitate this review, and as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own 🙂
With a heat index flirting with the high 90s today in Nashville, summer is officially here! It is HOT out there! So what’s the best way to cool down on a hot summer day? Get in the water of course! And for a local girl like me, there is one place that all the kids know for fun in the sun, and that’s Nashville Shores! We try to go at least once every year and this year was special because we had family come into town. We knew we had to take them to Nashville Shores for some lazy river relaxing, water slide riding, and wave pool fun!
Waking up bright and early, we got ready for our day. The kids were SO excited! Luckily we only live about 1/2 an hour away from Nashville Shores so it didn’t take long to get there. (Also, a tip from me, if you can, go during the week and go as soon as they open! Trust me, it’s way less busy. Early bird gets the best parking spot and beach chair!) The day we chose to go was pretty hot but it was overcast most of the day so it was perfect weather! We each had our own bag, and after being in the park for a few minutes we decided we did not want to carry them around all day! Luckily Nashville Shores offers different sized lockers for everyone’s needs. After putting our things away it was time to go have some fun!
Finding Your Way Around
Nashville Shores is broken up into 6 different sections. All of the sections are within comfortable walking distance of each other. I will say that if you have sensitive feet like I do, you will want to wear shoes as you walk around. We left ours in our locker and the pavement can get quite hot during the day. After our arrival we all quickly agreed that we wanted to hit the water slides first before the lines got too long.
Waterslides!
Now I’ll admit it, I’m a little bit of a chicken when it comes to waterslides. My mom and cousin however loved every single one of them! My daughter (who was a little too small for most slides) and myself had fun listening to them scream on the way down though! Nashville Shores has a great selection of slides from mild to wild! They are also staffed well and there are plenty of lifeguards and staff everywhere that they needed to be. Everyone had a smile on their face and were eager to help with anything anyone seemed to need!
Lunch Time
After spending some time on the waterslides it was time for lunch! Now you are not allowed to bring your own food into the park, but they have plenty of options to choose from and the prices are fair. Also the food is pretty yummy! This personal pizza I got came out hot, cheesy, and was the perfect size. The combo also came with chips and a drink. The also offer burgers, hot dogs, and other tasty treats.
While the adults finished lunch, the kids decided we were taking too long and they just had to go jump back into the pool while we finished up. Luckily we could see them from where we were. Nashville Shores offers the use of life jackets for free, so that really made me feel better about my daughter who isn’t the strongest swimmer yet. They also offer free sunscreen and tube rentals!
Wave Pool and Lazy River
After lunch it was time to check out the wave pool and lazy river. The wave pool was the kids favorite part, while my mom and myself had a blast on the lazy river. On this side of the park they offered some yummy treats as well. They had make your own slushies and ice cream selections. They also have lots of beach chairs to relax on and soak up some sun. (Don’t forgot to be safe and put on some sunscreen!)
The Perfect Ending to Our Day
We ended our day at Kowabunga Beach which was perfect for my daughter. That had slides she could ride, a large bucket of water, and all the water fun she could handle! This was a great chance for us to relax while she had some fun.
We had such a wonderful time at Nashville Shores and we know you will too! Also, if you are coming in from out of town or just need a staycation, they offer lakeview cabins and RV parking sites on property! As well as jet ski rentals and more! Make sure to visit the Nashville Shores Website to learn more!
